Office of the President of the Republic

The President of the Republic is the head of state of Lebanon, elected by Parliament to a single six-year term.

Lebanese Constitution

Economic Institutions

The central bank of Lebanon, established in 1963, responsible forissuing the national currency (Lebanese Pound) and maintaining monetary stability

National Social Security Fund

The state-run social insurance fund established in 1963, providinghealth insurance, maternity and work injury coverage, family allowances, and end-of-service indemnities for private and public-sector employees

Electricity of Lebanon

The national electricity company, a public establishment controlling~90% of electricity generation, transmission, and distribution in Lebanon. Founded in 1964,EDL operates the power plants and grid, and struggles withsupply shortages and infrastructure challenges.

Central Administration of Statistics

The national statistics office of Lebanon. CAS collects, analyzes,and publishes statistical data on population, economy, and social indicators. Itconducts surveys (like household budget surveys, labor force surveys) andprovides official figures for policy and planning.

National Council for Scientific Research

The top public institution for science and research, founded in 1962. CNRS formulates science policy, funds research projects, and operates research centers in geophysics, marine science, remote sensing, and atomic energy

Investment Development Authority of Lebanon

Lebanon’s national investment promotion agency, established in 1994 to attract, facilitate, and retain investments

Internal Security Forces

Lebanon’s national police and security force, responsible for internal security, law enforcement, and public safety. The ISF handles crime investigation, traffic control, riot control, and VIP protection under the authority of the Ministry of Interior.

Ministry of Public Health

Oversees public healthcare system, hospitals, and health services. Responsible for public health programs, disease prevention, health regulation, and responding to health emergencies (e.g., the COVID-19 response)

Office of the Minister of State for Administrative Reform

OMSAR is tasked with modernizing and reforming the public sector. It leads e-government initiatives, administrative development, and anti-corruption strategies across ministries

General Directorate of General Security

Intelligence and security agency handling entry/exit control, residence permits, and state security matters. General Security oversees passport issuance, visa control at borders, and monitors internal security threats and foreign espionage.
